On September 6 2022, Ms. Chanarat Ngamchana, Minister Counsellor, Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), and Mr. Wuthikiat Chaicharna, First Secretary, the Royal Thai Embassy in Yangon, together with officials from TICA handed over two mobile air quality monitoring units to U Myint Naing, District Administrator of Tachilek and U Thein Htay Director of the Assistant Director Office, Environmental Conservation Department, Environmental Conservation Department (ECD) of Shan State. On this occasion, TICA also organised a training course on stalling, using and maintaining of the mobile air quality monitoring units for staffs of Taunggyi and Tachileik Assistant Director Offices of Environmental Conservation Department.

The objective of this contribution is to enhance air quality management and develop a data set of PM2.5 air pollution in Shan state, Myanmar. This activity is under “the Project on Enhancing Air Quality Management to Reduce the Levels of PM2.5 in Myanmar” of the 3-year Plan of Development Cooperation between Thailand and Myanmar.
