On 3 October 2019, H.E. Mr. Saksayam Chidchob, Minister of Transport of Thailand leda delegation to Myanmar to attend the 9^th Myanmar-Thailand Joint Coordinating Committee (JCC) Meeting for the Comprehensive Development in the Dawei Special Economic Zone and Its Related Project Areas, co-chairing with H.E. Dr. Than Myint, Union Minister for Commerce of Myanmar, in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar.

Both sides discussed important issues, namely 1) the Implementation of Initial Phase and Full Phase of Dawei Special Economic Zone, in parallel, 2) The Two-Lane Road Construction (Dawei Special Economic Zone – Thailand-Myanmar Border (Htee Khee- Phanumron), under the collaboration on financial support between Ministry of Construction of Myanmar and Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Agency (Public Organization) (NEDA), and 3) the Arrangement to hold the 5^th Meeting of Myanmar-Thailand Joint High Level Committee (JHC) Meeting for the Comprehensive Development in the Dawei Special Economic Zone and Its Related Project Areas in Nay Pyi Taw before the next Thingyan Festival in April 2020.

Both sides agreed that this project will benefit the economic integration andthe seamless connectivity between the two countries and also among ASEAN countries particularly the development under the concept of the Southern Economic Corridor.
