On 10 November 2019, H.E. Mrs. Busaya Mathelin, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand presided over the offering ceremony of the Royal Kathina Robe conferred by His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua of the Kingdom of Thailand at Zabuaye Pariyatti Sar Thin Taik Monastery in Thanlyin, Yangon Region together with Ambassador of Thailand to Myanmar, Chief of Thai Offices in Yangon with spouses, officials from Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Royal Thai Embassy, representatives from Thai Business Association of Myanmar, Thai private sectors as well as Thai and Myanmar Buddhists. For this year, total amount for the donation is 57,290,750 Kyats (approximately 37,940.89 US dollars).

The offering ceremony of the Royal Kathina Robe has been annually holding in Myanmar from 1995, with purposes of promoting and strengthening cordial relations between the two countries especially people-to-people relations by using their common cultural heritages from Buddhism as well as assisting monks and supporting the monastery’s charitable activities for Myanmar society and community. Moreover, the ceremony also disseminates duties of Thailand’s Royal Institution in fostering and enhancing Buddhism in Thailand and other countries.
