he “Ear Nose Throat Surgery Mobile Unit” provides check-up, treatment, and surgery, free of charge, to Myanmar patients with hearing problems, while offering on-the-job training on ear surgery for Myanmar resident doctors and medical students who assisted the Thai doctors.
This project has been running for almost 20 years, since 1995. Not only that this project has helped improve living conditions of Myanmar patients who suffered from hearing problems, but more importantly, it has also helped cultivate the closer ties between Thailand and Myanmar through cooperation in the health sector.
For this year, this noble mission from Thailand for our friends in Myanmar takes place both in Yangon, at ENT Hospital and Jivitadana Sangha Hospital, and Hpa-An General Hospital in Kayin State, during 12-25 August 2014. With close cooperation and support from Myanmar doctors and nurses, this noble mission has been successful. The medical team from Thailand pledged their continued support for this project, with the Royal Thai Embassy ready to lend helping hands to make their future missions accomplished.
