The Biz Plan Challenge is a collaborative project between Kasikorn Bank, the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, the Ministry of Industry, Myanmar, the Renaissance Institute, a policy institute that focuses on economic reforms in Myanmar, and the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI). The project is part of Kasikorn Bank’s series of activities, in collaboration with the Myanmar Government and Myanmar private sector, to promote the development of the SME sector and its contribution to Myanmar’s economic growth.
Ambassador Jukr Boon-Long praised the Biz Plan Challenge 2018, and the digital marketing for digital entrepreneur, for being timely. This is due to the expected rise in economic growth in Myanmar, and business opportunities via the digital platform. Ambassador also noted the demand for capacity building to sustain economic growth. He highlighted that the Royal Thai Government and Thai private sector have consistently promoted the sharing of knowledge and experiences with Myanmar, in line with the Thai Government’s policy to support joint economic growth with neighbouring countries.
U Han Thar Myint noted that there was a need to shift from traditional marketing to digital marketing, due to the increasing use of technology and mobile phones. Mr. Pattanapong Tansomboon emphasized the importance of capacity building for SMEs, and outlined the aims of the project to provide knowledge and skills, as well as to share experiences from innovative businesses. The project was well attended by more than 200 participants.
