On 18 July 2023, H.E. Mr. Mongkol Visitstump, Ambassador of Thailand to Myanmar, together with representatives of Thai private sector handed over the third batch of additional humanitarian assistance to support the Myanmar people affected by Cyclone Mocha to the Myanmar side through U Soe Thein, Chief Minister of Yangon Region Government, U Aung Win Thein, Minister of Social Affairs of Yangon Region Government, and Prof.Dr. Myo Nyunt, President of the Myanmar Red Cross Society, at Bo Aung Kyaw port in Yangon. The humanitarian assistance from Thailand included the followings:
Cash donation of 953,898.59 baht from the Thai Red Cross Society to the Myanmar Red Cross Society;
Equipment and construction materials for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of housings contributed by the Siam Cement Group (Public) Thailand or SCG, cost of transportation from Bangkok to Yangon supported by the Thai-Myanmar Association for Friendship. Representatives from the SCG Myanmar were also present at the handover ceremony;
Cash donation of 4,000,000 MMK from Bank of Ayudhya PCL; in which the President of the Thai Business Association of Myanmar (TBAM), and the representative of Bank of Ayudhya PCL (Yangon Representative Office) also joined the handover ceremony.
