During 23 - 24 March 2023, representatives of the Royal Thai Embassy in Yangon, together with engineers from Charoen Pokphand Engineering Co., Ltd (CPE), conducted installation, testing and training on the use of the two rice milling machines donated by the Thai government to the villagers of Daung Taw Yoe Village, Kyauk Taw Township, Rakhine State under the Community Rice Mill Project in Rakhine State. Mr U Kyaw Soe Moe, Deputy Director of the Agricultural Mechanization Department of Rakhine State, also supported the mission and inspected the two rice milling machines.

The project has greatly benefited and reduced costs for the Daung Taw Yoe Village and neighboring communities. Because the villagers in the area grow rice as their primary occupation and the community in the area does not have their own rice milling machine. Therefore, having to hire a private mill to mill rice costs a lot. After receiving the donation, the villagers were pleased. The Thai side plans to hold the handover ceremony for the rice mill and rice milling machine in the near future.
