The Royal Thai Embassy in Yangon, in collaboration with the Thailand Foundation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized the first Thai cultural performance in Myanmar in 2016 called “A Thai Night of Splendour in Myanmar” by Cultural Troupe of Bunditpatanasilpa Institute, a National Centre of Thailand for performing arts and arts education, under the supervision of the Ministry of Culture of Thailand, on 4 May 2016 at National Theater in Yangon and on 6 May 2016 at MICC 2 in Nay Pyi Taw.

“A Thai Night of Splendour in Myanmar” aims to celebrate not only the two auspicious occasions for the Thai people; “The Seventieth Anniversary Celebrations of His Majesty’s Accession to the Throne” and “The Auspicious Occasion of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit of Thailand’s 7th Cycle Birthday Anniversary on 12 August 2016; but also represents a goodwill from Thailand for the new chapter of political development in Myanmar. 

 The Cultural performance both in Yangon and Nay Pyi Taw were warmly welcomed by Myanmar VIPs, members of diplomatic corps, friends of Thailand, and general public in Myanmar. The event was also live broadcasted by SkyNet in order to share this fabulous show for Myanmar viewers at home. The Thai companies in Myanmar including Bangkok Bank, Thai Air Asia, CP, SCG, PTT Group, and Index Creative Village kindly sponsor in bringing this goodwill mission from Thailand to Myanmar.

 “A Thai Night of Splendour in Myanmar” was successfully concluded and become a true representation of goodwill and friendship from Thailand which will contribute to the further development of  the existing cordial relations.
