Thailand and Myanmar help upgrade quality of life at a rural village in Yangon suburb area

On 18 June 2016, the Royal Thai Embassy in collaboration with Thai-Myanmar Alliance for Volunteerism (TMAV) organized CSR activities to help upgrade quality of life of students and villagers at the outskirt of Yangon at Nga Pyaw Gyun Village, Ayeyarwaddy region.

Mr. Pisanu Suvanajata, Ambassador of Thailand to Myanmar and spouse, representing the group of volunteers, handed over sport equipment, sewing machines, and vegetable seeds to the villagers as well as the newly-constructed facility 6 toilets to the school aiming to improve the sanitation of teachers and students.

On the same day, more than 30 villagers started their training in a month long sewing class organized by Milano Esmod Fashion House as part of job creation program. Besides, the professional football training program was commenced by Yangon FC’s coach for students and the mobile dental clinic from Myanmar Dentist Association also performed dental check up for more than 150 students.

The Royal Thai Embassy and TMAV have jointly implemented the project at Nga Pyaw Gyun village since May 2015 with a view to bring sustainable development for well being of student and community, especially in areas of health care, sanitation, nutrition, home gardening, livestock and sports. The project is currently in satisfied progress and the overall quality of life of villagers is successively improving.
