On 8 September 2018, Ambassador Jukr Boon-Long, together with His Excellency U Phyo Min Thein, Chief Minister of Yangon Region, and Mr. Paramate Nisagornsen, Vice President for Regional Business, SCG Cement Building Materials Business, delivered the opening remarks at “SCG Sharing the Dream” Scholarship Award Ceremony. This is the seventh year that SCG has organized this event to offer scholarships to high school students from public schools in Myanmar. This year, 150 scholarships were offered to high school students in Yangon.

In his opening remarks, Ambassador spoke of Thai companies’ commitment to Myanmar’s development, with a focus on local communities. In addition, he spoke of Thailand and Myanmar’s close relations, and celebrations of the 70^th anniversary of the establishment of Thailand-Myanmar diplomatic relations this year, as well as Thailand and Myanmar’s Natural Strategic Partnership. The Royal Thai Embassy, Yangon, has consistently encouraged Thai businesses to carry our corporate social responsibility, or CSR projects in their areas of investment in Myanmar, to support inclusive development in line with the policy of the Thai and Myanmar governments. Finally, Ambassador wished that the students will make the most of their talents to support their families, communities, and Myanmar’s development, and to promote Myanmar’s relations with the international community in the future.
