Pursuant to the visit of Assoc. Prof. Naraporn Chan-o-cha, wife of H.E. the Prime Minister of Thailand, to Yangon University of Foreign Languages (YUFL) to preside over the opening of YUFL's Thai Study Centre on 10 October 2014, Mrs. Thipayasuda  Suvanajata, wife of the Ambassador of Thailand to Myanmar handed over the eDLTV External Hard Disk as a gift from the Prime Minister’s wife to Dr. Lwin Lwin Soe, Rector of YUFL on 2 December 2014.

The eDLTV External Hard Disk, the educational material prepared by the Distance Learning Foundation under the Royal Patronage comprises 6 learning subjects (Thai Language, Science, Maths, English, Arts, Health Education, and Social Studies). With her far-sighted vision, Assoc. Prof. Naraporn has realized that the eDLTV External Hard Disk will be resourceful for Myanmar students studying Thai Language at YUFL as a tool of learning and practicing their listening and reading skills. At the same time, YUFL lecturers and Thai volunteers in the Thai Language Department will be able to utilize this educational material as part of the teaching of Thai Language as well.

The Thai Study Centre was set up in 2013 under the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand to commemorate the 65th Anniversary of the Establishment of Thailand-Myanmar Diplomatic Relations as well as to promote the Project "Curriculum Development in Teaching Thai Language" sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand in collaboration with Naresuan University.  Education is one of the main areas of development cooperation with Myanmar and the Thai Study Centre represents the success story of the cooperation.
