Thai Community in Myanmar Celebrates Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s 5th Cycle Birthday Anniversary

          On 2nd April 2015, the Royal Thai Embassy and over 250 members of Thai community in Myanmar, and Friends of Thailand in Myanmar, celebrated Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s 5th Cycle Birthday Anniversary at the Embassy, by which 19 Buddhist monks from Kyaing Tong (Khemaram) Monastery were invited to give a prayer of blessings to Her Royal Highness.

          After the Buddhist ritual, there was a blood donation to the National Blood Centre of Myanmar in which Ambassador Pisanu Suvanajata and his wife, together with Embassy’s officials and participants, totally 72 donors, gave their blood to dedicate the merits to the Princess. Thanks to the National Blood Centre of Myanmar who kindly ran a special mobile blood donation service at the Embassy.

          Thai restaurants and private enterprises jointly hosted a lunch for all participants. An exhibition in tribute of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn and Her works was also organized so as to allow all participants and the public to cherish various works of the Princess dedicated to the Thai people and international relations, particularly between Thailand and Myanmar. This exhibition will be displayed at the Embassy until the end of April 2015.

          With Her kindness, gentleness, and down-to-earth personality, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn has gained recognition and respect from all the Thai people and “Friends of Thailand” in Myanmar. From this, all activities successfully organized in Her tribute have been undertaken with full support and determination apparently reflecting a strong attachment to the beloved Princess.
