On 10 June 2016, Ambassador Pisanu Suvanajata delivered the opening address at the “Thailand Elite Hello Myanmar” event, at Sedona Hotel, to launch the “Thailand Elite Privilege Card” in Myanmar, with around 200 people participating in the event.

The Thailand Elite Privilege Card is implemented by the Tourism Authority of Thailand and offers many privileges to its members, including fast track service at the airport, access to top class golf courses and spas, and discounts at selected hotels and well-known shopping malls. The Tourism Authority of Thailand has chosen Nice Fare Services Company in Myanmar as their local agent.

In his opening address, Ambassador Pisanu spoke of Thailand’s experience and success in tourism in the past five years, during which Thailand attracted more than 20 million tourists per year. Most recently, in 2015, Thailand received almost 30 million tourists, with almost 260,000 tourists from Myanmar. He also emphasized Thailand’s readiness to welcome all visitors, be they tourists or business people, and offer its best services to everyone. Lastly, Ambassador Pisanu encouraged the audience, most of whom are regular visitors to Thailand, to apply for Thailand Elite card membership at a time when Thailand and Myanmar are entering into a new era of closer relations.
