Thai Community in Myanmar Commemorates 70th Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s Accession to the Throne

On June 9, 2016 at 20.00 hrs., the Royal Thai Embassy, Yangon organized a prayer and meditation ceremony to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s Accession to the Throne at the VIP Pavilion, the Shwedagon Pagoda. The ceremony was presided over by Ambassador Pisanu Suvannajata and attended by over 300 members of the Thai community in Myanmar.
 
On this occasion, Somdet Agga Maha Pandit Budda Chinnawong, Wat Pichaya Yatkaram graced the event by leading the prayer and meditation to H.M. the King. Moreover, the Embassy was rendered full cooperation from the Board of Trustees of the Shwedagon for the use of area and facilities of the Shwedagon Pagada which is regarded as the most sacred site in Myanmar. This reflects the cordial relations between Thailand and Myanmar and also Myanmar’s goodwill to share with the entire Thai nationals in this auspicious ceremony.
 
The entire Thai Nations including those people who live overseas have stayed under the cool shade of His Majesty the King’s benevolence. Every member of the Thai community in Myanmar likewise is always grateful towards His kindness and upholds longlastingly the contribution dedicated to the Thai society by our great King.
