On 12 June 2015, the Royal Thai Embassy in Yangon in collaboration with the Board of Investment of Thailand (BOI), organized a seminar on “Investment Promotion and Facilitation: A Case Study of Thailand”. The seminar is a part of an activity under the programme on Foreign Investment Promotion in Myanmar that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand has provided to Myanmar since 2013.
In the opening remarks, Ambassador Pisanu Suvanajata, emphasized that although Thailand is not the best practice case in the world, but it is perhaps the best practical model of foreign investment promotion suitable to Myanmar. More importantly, the BOI of Thailand with its 50 years accumulated experience and expertise, has always been willing to share its experience and to assist our Myanmar friends in this field.
The seminar was well received by the Myanmar side with 30 participants from Directorate of Investment and Company Administration (DICA), Customs Department, Internal Revenue Department, the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce (UMFCCI) attending the seminar.
