On 30 March 2017, H.E. Mr. Jukr Boon-long, Ambassador-Designate of Thailand to Myanmar, presented a copy of Credentials to H.E. U Thant Sin, Chief of Protocol of Myanmar, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Myanmar in Nay Pyi Taw.

Ambassador-Designate Jukr also took the opportunity to pay courtesy calls on executives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Myanmar, namely H.E. U Kyaw Tin, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, H.E. U Kyaw Zeya, Permanent Secretary and Director-General of Political Department, and U Kyaw Moe Tun, Director-General of the International Organizations and Economic Department. In those separate meetings, both sides exchanged views on the excellent state of the　bilateral relations between Thailand and Myanmar, explored ways and means to strength cooperation in the areas of mutual interest.

Ambassador-Designate Jukr accepted his new assignment in Yangon at one of the most important junctures. Next year, Thailand and Myanmar will mark the 70^th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. A series of activities is being planned by the two countries to celebrate this important event.
